Malawi things to do
Lake Malawi is a fascinating country in this land of Africa, and has the most beautiful expanse of land and in the most pristine surroundings. Spanning over an area of around 365 miles lengthwise and around 52 miles in width, this has earned the name of Calendar Lake which is a very beautiful expanse of watery paradise and has the beauty of the smaller island with the whole zone fringed by clean beaches. The sight of the swaying palm trees amidst verdant surroundings makes it a perfect haven for all nature lovers.
With rugged terrains, and steep cliffs, this is an absolute adventure zone and has an absolutely enviable landscape. The Tanzania and the Mozambique form a great backdrop in this land of beautiful sunrise and sunset.

Come to the Nyika Plateau and enjoy this Scottish region of Africa. This is where you have he beautiful Nyika plateau and also the Nyika National Park. This is a greatly fascinating zone with its uninhabited vegetation and with innumerable rivers crisscrossing the region. The stunning scenic splendour is something to reckon with and it is a completely amazing experience. Around 50 miles in length and more than 35 miles in width the gentle slopes and the high altitude make it a great paradise. With the montane kind of grassland and evergreen patches dominating the region, it is a wonderful experience to come to this part of the world.

Then you have the valleys and the savannah woodland which grows on the edges of the dense growth and it is interesting to se the large bushes of protea here. With the plateaus being surrounded by steep encarpments, the waterfalls that come out of this place turn into rivers and flow towards the Malawi Lake. With the lovely pleasant and cool climate the entire area is rightly called the Scotland of Africa.
The vegetation here is a great attraction and with the diversity of avifauna and flora here it is a wonderful feeling to be amidst the tall trees here that dominate the vegetation. Here any game is easily seen due to this kind of vegetation.
Get to see the zebra, the reedbuck, the wathog, the bushbuck and the eland and enjoy the sights of the jackals, klipspringers, hartebeest and the duikers. Also spotted are the leopard and hyena which are great predators. The buffalo and the elephant here are also greatly popular but the fact that they are found in the more secluded places in the park is what makes it a fascinating sight.
Go to the Liwonde National Park and the River Shire which is incidentally the best game viewing area. The River Shire comes out of Malombe Lake and also cuts across the western side of the park and attracts a lot of game species.
Liwonde also has a lot of elephants inhabiting it. There are small sable herds and also other wildlife like the zebra, the wildebeest, the hartebeest and also the black rhino that is found here.
There river here is the place where the crocodile lives along with lot of mud turtles and a huge collection of hippos. Get enchanted by the sights of the elephants which are seen here in the watery paradise.

Also go to the Zomba Plateau which is an enchanting forest region. With the best sights of the table top mountain which actually looms over the Zomtown, this is a beautiful place to visit in the surroundings of around 2500 feet below lying at the bottom of a steep terrain.
