Things to Do in Florida, Northwest
Florida is, no doubt, full of attractions. In this article, I will tell you about the things to do in Florida, especially in its northwest area.
Explore the historic city of Pensacola that has witnessed the violent acts of the Spanish, French, and English. One of the most interesting things to do in Florida is to know about the historic events of this city while walking on the Colonial Archaeological Trail, the site with an excavation program. The downtown area is also full of great attractions. Here, the Pensacola Museum of Art in an old jail, the Pensacola Cultural Center as the largest co-operative gallery in the South, Wall South as a replica of the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Washington, and the Saenger Theater organizing the local and national music concerts are worth visiting.
The city is also home to one of the biggest air and space museums – the National Museum of Naval Aviation that wonderfully says about the history of aviation from the first flight of wood to the modern space flight. Next, the Gulf Breeze Zoo is the home of more than 700 animals and a beautiful botanical garden. Here, you can spot gorillas and chimpanzees freely roaming in their habitats on the islands, which is interesting. For some seaside fun, go to Gulf Islands National Seashore and Big Lagoon Park where the preserved beaches will make you feel fresh.
To the east of Pensacola, the Emerald Coast is a scenic beach reachable via a wonderful bridge system. The attractions here are the Fort Walton Beach and Santa Rosa Island where white sands, green waters, white houses, superb shells, and excellent dining are the alluring features.
No one can miss the Panama city where the Panama City Beach offers great water sports that are among the most liked things to do in Florida. There are many waterways, bays, and lagoons here. Check out for the St Andrews State Recreation Area with nature trails and beaches, ferry from treasure Island Marina to the Shell Island, Museum of the Man-in-the-Sea, Miracle Strip Amusement Park, Shipwreck Island Water Park, and Alvin’s Magic Mountain Mall offering sharks and alligators for a glimpse
